Network for Public Education Seeks School/Business Partnership Nominations

The New Haven Network for Public Education, now being managed by the Greater New Haven Chamber of Commerce, is seeking nominations for its 15th Annual Partners in Education Awards breakfast. Nominees must be a school, teacher or educator, corporation/business, or individual from a business partner who makes a difference in the New Haven Public Schools. The Partners in Education breakfast will be held 8:00am on Monday, May 21, 2007 at the Michael J. Adanti Student Center at Southern Connecticut State University. Bill Strickland, president and CEO of Pittsburghs Manchester Craftsmens Guild and Bidwell Training Center, Inc. will be the keynote speaker. Award Categories: School Partner Award: Nominee is a New Haven public school involved in a school-business partnership. Nominator is the business or individual from a business partner. Educator Partner Award: Nominee is a teacher in a New Haven Public school who is involved in a school-business partnership. Nominator is the business or individual from a business partner. Steve Grove Corporate Award: Nominee is a corporation/business involved in a school-business partnership with a New Haven public school. Nominator is the school or teacher partner. Ben Trivelli Business Partner Award: Nominee is an individual volunteer or employee from a business partner involved in a school-business partnership with a New Haven public school. Nominator is the school or teacher partner. Award Criteria: 1. The nominee has demonstrated an exceptional commitment to working together in partnership to enhance students academic experiences. 2. The nominee has made significant contributions in one or more of the following areas: · curriculum enhancement · professional development · technologybased programming · mentoring programs · community outreach and collaboration Nominations must be submitted no later than 5pm, Friday, March 30, 2007.
